Annual Events

December - Show your adventurous side and take part in the Annual Polar Bear Swim on New Years Eve, at 10 a.m. at Harbour Town! Take an invigorating dip in the Harbour Town Pool on a chilly winter day and then warm up after your plunge with hot chocolate and refreshments. 

April - The Annual Art Market at Historic Honey Horn featuring a juried fine art and craft show with demonstrations and works in a variety of media, including clay, wood, fiber, metal, glass, jewelry, watercolors, oil, mixed media and photography, on display and for sale. 

May - Barrels & Bluegrass Craft Beer Festival is all about the beer – specifically, rare and exceptional beer from over 50 breweries. In addition to sampling brews from the finest craft breweries, this event will feature live music and delicious food available for purchase. One of the largest beer festivals in South Carolina.

May - This extraordinary culinary adventure will be all the fun of a bacon themed block party mixed with a full-scale festival experience. Join us as many of the area's top restaurants, several of the area's top bands, and hundreds of the area's top food lovers gather to celebrate American traditions – Beer, Bacon & Music. This event will feature bacon sampling and full sized bacon cuisine, bacon confectionary delights, live music from some of the area's top bands (who also love bacon), local breweries and full service bars with beer, liquor, wine and bacon themed cocktails.

October - This fun-filled festival local restaurants will be cooking their best sliders to compete for your vote; meanwhile in the beer garden, guests have a chance to taste 20 different brews. The sliders can be beef, chicken, pork or seafood. The Kid Zone will have plenty of moon bounces and games for your child’s entertainment at a minimal fee. 

November - Bring the family to Heritage Farm for a fun afternoon of fall activities, including caramel apples, games, crafts and more for the Caramel Apple Festival. Rates vary based on activities.

February - The dinner will be a showcase of local and celebrity chefs. African influences on coastal culinary from the Gullah Geechee corridor, to Louisiana Cajun/Creole and Floribbean cuisine will be sampled at tasting stations – along with unlimited spirits, beer and wine tastings.

December - Presented by The Daufuskie Island Rum Company featuring great food and drinks to enjoy while local bands perform. Ferry tickets from Broad Creek and Palmetto Bay are available to Daufuskie Island for a fun annual music festival featuring Daufuskie Island Rum's. 

Summer - Join the Island Rec. Center at their Open Lap pool as they host Dive-In Movies during the summer, the fourth Friday evening of the month. Float in the pool and watch a movie! There will be special games and activities based on the movie to start off the night. Pizza, popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase. Floats welcome....

December - A Hilton Head Island holiday tradition for over 20 years, the Dove Street Festival of Lights returns to the Shelter Cove Towne Centre for the holiday season with over 70,000 lights! Park your car, stroll through the lights and falling snow (bubbles), all while enjoying nightly holiday entertainment, shopping, dining and much more

April - A community event held at Shelter Cove Community Park to provide the Best Easter Egg Hunt in Hilton Head!

April - Enjoy a festive wagon ride and marvel at the spring colors and abundant plant and wildlife in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve with the Easter Wagon Ride. Cookies and refreshments will be provided before the tour.

Spring/Summer -  The Farmer’s Market at Sea Pines Center presented by Lowcountry Produce is a community event to bring the farm to the market for the residents and visitors of Hilton Head Island. Every Tuesday, (in-season) weather permitting, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

July - All throughout the month, enjoy a fun summer night floating on a tube at the Harbour Town Swimming Pool while watching a movie and eating pizza with your family every Wednesday night from 8-10 p.m.

January - The GMHHI’s annual gala “Honoring the Carpenters, Boat Builders, Blacksmiths and Masonries” of Gullah tradition. A popular fund-raising event that sells out quickly with a Silent Auction, Oyster Roast and LowCountry Boil. Don't miss out on a LowCountry Experience.
